The birth of Spirit Talker Harps
Marc St. Louis is a well-known traditional Bowyer, Arrowsmith and Flintknapper by trade.
His extensive work in Traditional Archery can be found on the web under Marc's Bows & Arrows and his writings on the subject in The Bowyer's Bible and issues of Primitive Archer magazine.

There is a saying in French:
'Plus d'une corde à son arc' which refers to one having more than one trick or tool in one's kit.

Well, quite literally, Marc has been adding more strings to his bows...

It is interesting to note that the earliest harps were 'bow harps'; a single string on a bent stick with the player using his mouth or a gourd at one end as resonator.

Marc's experience with wood and his legendary patience and attention to detail led him to his first harp build in 2009: a 31-string Celtic Harp.

The harp was for his wife Anne-Marie whose interests lie in the Healing Harp. A trained palliative-care volunteer from Elizabeth Bruyere in Ottawa, she began volunteering as Therapy Harpist at Mattawa Hospital. Later, she formed a volunteer Harp Circle under the auspices of Near North Palliative Care in North Bay, ON.

The therapy harp circle has since been 'rebirthed' as Braveharps and still gathers under the generous guidance of Carol & John Owens.
